Like I have said in my first entry on this website,
Reading books is one of my favourite pastimes.
In my house there is a huge bookshelf that contains
at least five hundred books. From classics to originals,
the family bookshelf has many books to choose
from. Out of the many books in my bookshelf,
my favourite series is the Great Illustrated Classics. These
books has many different authors, from the ever so
celebrated author Bram Stoker, to the imaginative
writer Jules Verne. Out of the many classics that
they have published, I have bought around fourteen
books, comprising of Dracula, Twenty Thousand Leagues
Under the Sea, The Time Machine, The Invisible Man,
The Secret Garden, White Fang, Pride and Prejudice,
King Arthur and The Knights of The Round Table,
A Journey To the Center of The Earth, Sherlock Holmes,
Robin Hood, The Three Mustketeers, The War of The Worlds,
Great Expectations, and Peter Pan.
These stories are the doorways to fantasy worlds,
where one can escape the rat race, and relax in their
comfort zone. My favourite stories are Great Expectations,
The Time Machine, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under The Sea,
And King Arthur. Let me talk about one of them. The Time Machine
Is about a scientist, who has discovered the method of time-traveling.
He shows his fellow scientists what he can do, by
transporting a minature version of the time machine to the
future. They do not believe him, and the scientist, or
what he calls himself the Time Traveler, travels forwards
into time to a time where human beings are dim-witted
people, who call themselves the Eloi. These creatures are very
scared of the dark, and the scientist wonders why.
He soon finds out that on every night, strange and
Fearsome creatures called the Morlocks devour the Eloi.
He struggles to get back to his time, and winds up only going back a few years.
After many adventures, he finally gets back to his
time. Still the scientists do not believe him,
causing him to go back in time again,
which in that process, disappears and never comes back.
Stories are fascinating to read, so why spend your
hard-earned money on clothing when you can
buy many books? I now leave this question to you.
